Rankin Western Holsters

Welcome, Visitor!

There are quite a few photos on this page, so please be patient and give them time to load if you have a dial-up connection. The wait will be worth your time!

Among my favorite western holster designers and builders are the Moran Bros. that were in Miles City, Montana Territory during the late 1800's. Their quality of leather and craftsmanship was superb! I also pattern some of my holsters after the M.E. Montrose Saddlery holsters that were built in Montrose, Colorado between 1890 and 1910. Another personal favorite holster and saddle maker of a bygone era is W.B. Ten Eyck from the Billings, Lawman HolsterMontana Territory during the late 1800's.  I enjoy reproducing the old western style holsters that had the Mexican loop design or Mexican loop pattern style.  No two are exactly alike unless ordered together as a pair.

Holsters are available unlined or with an optional lining.  For lining, I use 2-1/2 to 3 ounce tooling leather with the smooth side up. This is far superior to the felt or split leather lining that some makers use which collects oil, dirt and dust resulting in an abrasive surface against your handgun.  I make all my cartridge belts fully lined with pulled bullet loops versus the sewn on bullet loops that have a tendency to come loose with the passage of time. This is a little extra work but I have found the durability worth the extraTilghmann Rig effort. All holsters illustrated here were custom made to each individual order. If you are not sure of what your exact needs are, feel free to contact me for a consultation to determine what would work best for you and your handgun.

The prices illustrated here reflect the price of the item as shown. Costs can vary according to what each individual orders for barrel length, silver conchos, specialty carving, hand dying, lining, etc. Shipping is additional.

I strongly urge you to read the Consumer Safety page prior to ordering and using any of my holsters and gun belts.
